STANDARDIZATION OF DISSERTATIONS

The dissertations of PPgMAE/UFRN must be written utilizing the LaTeX system. CLICK HERE to download the installation tutorial and usage of LaTeX, as well as a dissertation template adopted by PPgMAE/UFRN. 

Notice: all the dissertations must mention UFRN in the acknoledgements, and, for CAPES/DS grant recipients, according to the PORTARIA Nº 206, DE SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2018, from CAPES, the following text according to the work language:

"O presente trabalho foi realizado com apoio da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - Brasil (CAPES) - Código de Financiamento 001

SCHEDULING QUALIFICATION EXAMS AND DISSERTATION DEFENSES

To schedule a qualification exam, or a dissertation defense, the following data must be provided at least 30 (thirty) days in advance.

- Place:

- Date:

- Time:

- Number of Pages:

- Title in Portuguese:

- Abstract in Portuguese:

- Keywords in Portuguese:

- Title in English:

- Abstract in English:

- Keywords in English:

- Composition of the examining board (at least three doctors, one of them external to the UFRN, in case of defense):

For examiners external to the UFRN, the following data must be provided

- CPF (or passport, in case of a foreign examiner):

- Gender:

- Year of the doctorate:

- Teaching institution, in case s/he works for one.

It is necessary to indicate which members will be participating remotely or in person

Notice: In order to schedule a quaification exam, it is required that the student has already been approved in the English language proficiency exam (the Collegiate and the Coordination are to decide which certificates are accepted). In order to schedule a dissertation defense, it is required that the student has completed all credits and any further activities necessary for the obtention of the title of Master. The validation of qualification and defense activities will only occur upon presentation of their corresponding minutes to the Secretary Office, signed by all examiners and the own student.

DISSERTATION HOMOLOGATIONS

The process of dissertation homologation is entirely electronic and must be taken in ten steps through the SIGAA platform. See below a printscreen illustrating the process. The described procedures are available at the menu "Ensino>Produções Acadêmicas>Acompanhar Procedimentos após Defesa", on the student account profile on SIGAA. The submission of the final version of the dissertation, along with the publication consent and the submission of required documentation (CPF, RG, and degree Diploma) must be realized at most in thirty days by the student.
